Transportation from airport to pier (FLL)

It's not very far as I recall so thinking we'll grab a cab from terminal to head over to pier. Is there a liquor store en route so my friend can get our two token bottles of wine we are entitled to and dont want to risk in checked airline luggage? How much is cab fare avg?

Cab fare without a stop for wine is about $15 -- there is a Total Wine store as well as a Publix grocery store (with a good wine selection, but nothing to compare to TW) very near the port entrance; you can order/purchase on-line with TW and your order should be waiting for you at the manger's desk, which would save you some "Meter-time" on the waiting taxi. Total wine is huge and if you don't preorder, you can roam for quite a while before picking out what you want. That $15 ride can double.
