Player's Club Ad came in the mail

I received a mailing from the Player's Club yesterday. It was for up to 35% off cruise price, $300 casino money, free drinks, and other perks. I've already book the Liberty for June 20 (deposits only paid). That cruise is one of the ones they are offering.

I assume if I cancel my booked cruise I would get my deposit back. I could then rebook under this offer. Or should I try to get them to switch my booking? Or just say the heck with it all and leave it alone?!?

Suggestions? Thanks.

Call them and do the math. Sometimes it's a percentage off of the standard rate, so it may not help you. I keep getting offers for the Premier Cruises that are scheduled the week before I'm already booked on a free cruise, and can't take the time to do a b2b, LOL! Factor in the cruise cash (or any portion of it that you wouldn't already get) and the free drinks unless you already get them....see which is cheaper. Just bear in mind that the casino will be PACKED that cruise.

How are you booked? What rate fare?

In 2012 we were booked ES on our 2013 B2B. At some point, my SO received a similar letter - % of full fare + casino cash. I called our PVP and she gave us the rate code of PTC which we put on our ES price drop form. We were still ES.

It's worth checking into if the fare will drop. The casino cash was received by taking the letter to the cashier's cage.

If you log in to your account on Carnival's website, you will see the prices for the premier cruises offer you got in the mail. I got the new offer in the mail today too and it sounds similar to yours. I went online and looked at the prices (which the snail mail offer didn't show), and the prices seemed higher than the premier cruises they offered last year. I decided to pass. Even with the $300 casino cash included, it wasn't a great bargain.

Ditto, same with us.

If this is for a Premier Casino Cruise then it's probably going to be worth the change. This happened to me on our 2013 Halloween cruise. We had booked it about a year out then it changed to a casino cruise, we had already made final payment though it wasn't due. I just happened to have booked it through a PVP on a Friends and Family certificate, so I just called him and asked to be changed to the casino rate. I got about a $60pp rate decrease and all the perks of the casino cruise which were fabulous.......I won't pass up one of those in the future.

We were given a letter in the casino during our last cruise (hadn't even earned the free drinks yet). It offered 20% any cruise booked within 2 weeks and taken by the end of May.

We found a trip that fit our school schedules, and called to book. These offers are handled by the promotions team, not the regular PVPs. We didn't tell her the %%, just the rate code. Instead of 20%, she gave us a FREE stateroom. OK, Riveria deck at the bow, but still, FREE.

Now, I don't know if it was her error in misreading the code, but we were sure happy. My advice is to call the promotions number and see what they offer.

Either way, call the Players Club a couple weeks before your cruise to see if any casino cash offers are available. You can only redeem ONE per cruise, so collect all your mailings and select the best one. (We took a whole stack and had quite a conversation with the manager about it.)

I was offered a free Interior, just had to pay taxes and fees. For 2 of us it was about $150.00. Great deal right?

So, I wanted to upgrade to a suite. 4 of us sharing Grand suite with all taxes and fees came out to be about $300.00 each!!!

My wife and 3 friends booked this exact suite a year ago and it was $700.00 each. So in my opinion the Casino offer is pretty darn good.

I got one of those letters last week on the Sunshine. We weren't planning on using it but we just might call to see what we'll be offered.

Whoo-Hooo

I called Carnival and asked if they could switch my booking to the Player's Club offer. The PVP told me she couldn't but would ask her supervisor.

They said YES! With the reduced fare, $300 casino money, and free drinks in casino, I'm saving about $1000.

This made my day!!!!!

I got this letter in my cabin on my Sunshine cruise in January. The offer was only good for booking within 2 weeks. The casino host onboard told me that the casino offers we receive in the mail, with the exception of the premier offers, will be going away. Time will tell.

I got a 4-day, single rate for $206 empress deck in may, plus $25 casino cash out of Long Beach. I can't wait to go!

never got a letter.. ever... and have been on 25 cruises with Carnival. HOWEVER, with the solo rate, I got an interior cabin on Lido deck in May on the Victory for 279 plus taxes and fees. Didn't think that was bad at all for a May cruise.

Mine was a casino offer on the website under VIFP my offers. Started at $92, but by the time I added on the single supplement and the date to get the cabin I wanted, plus taxes etc, it doubled. But I can't complain. I wanted to try out the Imagination anyway.
