elliair Posted February 25, 2014 #26 Share Posted February 25, 2014  I haven't seen any horror stories... I've only seen a couple of these stories and I wasn't horrified, I sat there and LMAO! If anyone is scared of horror stories, stay at home and lock your doors and have a loaded weapon - just in case someone decides to invade your home. Oh and stay out of malls too! If anyone is scared of horror stories, stay at home and lock your doors and have a loaded weapon - just in case someone decides to invade your home. Oh and stay out of malls too! I was about to post the exact same thing....there is still more crime in your home town I'm sure. Guess it is time for all those people that are scared of Carnival because of a few isolated events to move to the woods of Montana and become hermits. That is like people that are scared to fly after there is a plane crash....guess they should not drive because more people die in auto accidents then plane crashes every year. And as far as the OP's concerns about their 3 little ones...my advice is to just use due diligence like you do in a mall or any other public place with them. We leave our 4 year old in Camp Carnival as much as she likes and NEVER had any issues or concerns. We go up every hour or so and peek in and check on her. The staff if VERY cautious about signing kids in and out. Edited February 25, 2014 by med9114u

KPfromCT Posted February 26, 2014 #29 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Honestly, if you just use common sense, and watch your kids, as they're young, you will be fine. We have NEVER had an issue on the cruise ship. Stuff gets blown out of proportion on the CNN's of the world..... Keep your kids in your sight. Lock your deadbolt if in your cabin alone, or even better, at ALL times. Watch your kids in the pool. Go and have FUN!!!!!!:D:D The national networks blow this stuff out of proportion because it happens so infrequently, but the one time it DOES happen, it sticks in peoples minds. deborahjo Posted February 26, 2014 #30 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Maybe you should just take your little ones and sail on Disney cruises then.. they never have any "horror" stories... To bad they do have horror stories. 2 months ago an office attacked a young lady in an elevator before the ship left port. I believe it was the Wonder. You can google it. It was reported. Disney let this guy sail to the Nassau and not in custody. As soon as the ship ported Disney scurred him off the ship and to the airport so he could not be charged. Yes they have nothing happening on their ships............ Jimmy Geegitz Posted February 26, 2014 #33 Share Posted February 26, 2014 If you vacation on land in Florida I would be more frightened than on a ship. Crime rate in Florida is one of the highest in the country.

aideek2000 Posted February 26, 2014 #44 Share Posted February 26, 2014 As we progress into 2014, I want to thank you for your educational e-mails over the past year. I am totally screwed up now and have little chance of recovery. I can no longer open a bathroom door without using a paper towel, nor let the waitress put lemon slices in my ice water without worrying about the bacteria on the lemon peel. I can't sit down on a hotel bedspread because I can only imagine what has happened on it since it was last washed. I have trouble shaking hands with someone who has been driving because the number one pastime while driving alone is picking one's nose. Eating a little snack sends me on a guilt trip because I can only imagine how many gallons of trans fats I have consumed over the years. I can't touch any woman's handbag for fear she has placed it on the floor of a public toilet. I must send my special thanks for the email about rat poo in the glue on envelopes because I now have to use a wet sponge with every envelope that needs sealing. ALSO,now I have to scrub the top of every can I open for the same reason. I can't have a drink in a bar because I fear I'll wake up in a bathtub full of ice with my kidneys gone. I can't eat at KFC because their chickens are actually horrible mutant freaks with no eyes, feet or feathers. I can't use cancer-causing deodorants even though I smell like a water buffalo on a hot day. Thanks to you I have learned that my prayers only get answered if I forward an e-mail to seven of my friends and make a wish within five minutes. Because of your concern,I no longer drink Coca Cola because it can remove toilet stains. I no longer buy fuel without taking someone along to watch the car, * so a serial killer doesn't crawl in my back seat when I'm filling up. I no longer use Cling Wrap in the microwave because it causes seven different types of cancer. And thanks for letting me know I can't boil a cup of water in the microwave anymore because it will blow up in my face, disfiguring me for life. I no longer go to the cinema because I could be pricked with a needle infected with AIDS when I sit down. I no longer go to shopping centers because someone will drug me with a perfume sample and rob me.. * And I no longer answer the phone because someone will ask me to dial a number for which I will get a huge phone bill with calls to Jamaica , Uganda , Singapore and Uzbekistan .. Thanks to you I can't use anyone's toilet but mine because a big black snake could be lurking under the seat and cause me instant death when it bites my butt. And thanks to your great advice I can't ever pick up a dime coin dropped in the car park because it was probably placed there by a sex molester waiting to grab me as I bend over. I can't do any gardening because I'm afraid I'll get bitten by the Violin Spider and my hand will fall off. * Oh, and by the way... * A German scientist from Argentina , after a lengthy study, has discovered that people with insufficient brain activity read their e-mails with their hand on the mouse. * Don't bother taking it off now, it's too late. * P. S. I now keep my toothbrush in the living room, because I was told by e-mail that water splashes over 6 ft. out of the toilet.. NOW YOU HAVE YOURSELF A VERY GOOD DAY…
KPfromCT Posted February 26, 2014 #45 Share Posted February 26, 2014 This is Carnival. Please stop having unrealistic expectations. Can't tell if you are being sarcastically funny, or just being YOU:rolleyes::rolleyes: Parents seem to think when they get on a cruise ship, their kids are no longer their responsibility. GROW UP PEOPLE!!!!!!! Just saw a segment on our local news, here in CT, in regards to the two boys drowning on the Norwegian ship out of NYC two weeks back. WHERE WERE THE PARENTS?????????? I am sorry, and feel horrible for what they must be going through, but too many parents think someone else will keep an eye on their kids, while on a cruise, and that is NOT the case. I don't know of ANY cruise ship that has lifeguards.

That tomb still sits there. Did that Captain's trial ever go to court or did he ever receive a sentence? I don't remember ever seeing that. And didn't they right the ship and tow it off for scrap?
