Quantum cabin change

We are booked on the transatlantic crossing on Nov 02nd together with my parents. I received an e-mail today from RCI informing me that my parents Cat I cabin is no longer available and that they have been re-assigned cabin 3608 instead of their original cabin 3640. They are a little worried about noise from the Casino, has anyone got any experience of similar cabins on the other RCI class ships close to the casino.

Sorry can't help on if any noise from casino but did RCCL give you a reason as to why they moved your parents ?

Same question. Royal reserves the right to do things like that (and many other things you wish they wouldn't) but it's definitely unusual. If they're concerned about the new location I would suggest they call up Royal and see if they can (at mininum) relocate elsewhere although the TA is probably quite booked at this point. They may be more motivated to work with them since they were (apparently?) involuntarily moved. Let us know what happens.

I hope this has nothing to do with that day a few months ago when many cabins were open for "re-sale" on the website.

My SB was one of those that was put back into inventory and I was concerned that someone could have booked it and result in a 'double' booking.

I just had a look at the deck plans....and the original cabin 3640 was next to a white space -

I wonder if perhaps they have discovered they need to make that space bigger so therefore they needed to take 3640 out of the inventory

It appears that category I is now a GTY so I cannot see what other cabins are available rather than 3608.

According to our TA the only information was when the cabin 3640 was measured it falls below what they consider the minimum sq footage for a Cat I cabin and therefore has been withdrawn from sale. I asked our TA to approach RCI for any other Cat I besides 3608 and they have flatly refused saying that the only other option on offer is a refund.

While this may very well be the case, cruise ship cabins are pre-fabricated and just put into place by the shipyard when assembling the vessel. These cabins are standardized at the factory.

I would suggest that a 3 way call between you, your TA and RCCL is needed to actually get to the full story.

Those cabins are now in the Guarantee category so they must have some of them still available.

Good luck and please let us know what happens.
