bornfreenowexpensive Posted March 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2014 The last two times I traveled to Europe, once on Nautica and last fall a land trip, I got sick with a nasty cold/sinus infection/maybe strep. I had my own antibiotics with me and I took them. If I hadn't of had them, does the ship medical dispensary have them, like a Z Pac or something similar. Can they do a strep test? I just saw where one can purchase instant strep test kits on Amazon, just as an aside. I'm not concerned about cost or insurance, just what is the scope of their medical intervention? The simple answer is yes, my DH had a very bad infection requiring intravenous Antibiotics and the Doctor was wonderful and my DH was well within two days. Yes, the cost is high but we have yearly medical travel insurance and all we had to pay was the $50 deductible. HTH worldwide insurance services and the policy is with GEOBlue. 888.243.2358 They have been very good and pay within a few weeks of a claim. beachwalker262 Posted March 2, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 2, 2014 Hi Judy Sharon had broken her leg and needed treatment while on the Regatta last year. Except for the outdated x-ray equipment they had everything we needed. Other people we met in the infirmary seemed to be getting everything they needed.
