How do you people afford all those cruises?

Some of my cruises I go with girlfriends rather than the family. Then I'm only paying for me rather than for 4 people. My DH likes motorbike trips with the guys and I like a cruise and some balcony time reading a book with a glass of wine and idle chatter with my GF. It works very well for some of our vacation time and budget.

We have recently booked repositioning cruises- much cheaper, and I ring several TAs and pick the best offer.

We did sail in inside cabins to start with, but have been upgraded to balcony for inside prices on some cruises. Once you have sailed with a balcony, you don't want to revert to insides, unless it's a very short cruise.

We also don't buy each other Christmas / Birthday presents any more.

Our cruise is our present to ourselves.

I drive an 89 Chevy.

Huh?:eek:...I work to cruise:D.....I save $$ and have never booked a suite.

Someone metioned priorities earlier and I totally agree. It is about what

is important to each person. I don't care about a suite and it is way

beyond my budget. I thought about it a couple of times but never

ended up booking one...realized for the price I could take 2 or 3

other cruises.

I have no desire to go into what I call "cruise debt". I book what I

can afford and love cruising:).....like I said, I work to cruise;)

 

Well said, we manage to budget for an annual cruise, we are happy with a balcony cabin. I don't want anymore than this with other beach holidays etc. Love the new friends we always meet from around the world though. Anyway if you keep doing cruises how do you manage to keep the weight off.
