Galveston on a Sunday night?

Hi!

We are cruising out of Galveston on April 21, a Monday. If we go into Galveston on Sunday evening (our flight into Hobby lands around 4:30) will there be anything to do?

There is Pleasure Pier...an amusement park on the pier that formally housed the hotel that was over the Gulf. Since it will be around 6:00 when you get to Galveston, if it were me, I would just grab a nice dinner and veg at the hotel (but we are a little boring).

 

There is always the "people watching" which can be very entertaining near some of the clubs, the shops and a dip in the Gulf of Mexico.

We like to go to the fishing pier and watch the sun go down. I think it is at 61st Street and Seawall Blvd. It is across from the Tortugas resturaunt. You don't have to pay unless you want to go way out to the fishing area. You have to buy something to drink and then you can go upstairs and out on the deck. They have everything from bottled water to margaritas to purchase. We do that then pick a place on the seawall to have dinner. Very relaxing.

There is also Jimmie's at 69th St. Restaurant on top - great view, nice bar and food. No fee to go up, only on fishing pier.

As Harbor House is downtown at Pier 21, there are 4 restaurants right there;

Olympia at Pier 21, Nonno Tony's, Willie G's and Fisherman's Wharf.
