Enchantment of the Seas, Cabin 7666 Review 2/28/2014

Recommended Posts

After much planning, we chose Enchanment of the Seas for our little get-away cruise.

Our arrival and initial thoughts: We pre-paid for parking and arrived about 12 pm for our cruise, parking was easy, and so was getting on the ship. As other reviews state, the Windjammer was packed the first day for lunch. So we took other cruisers advice and headed to thethe park cafe. It was a nice, not so busy alternative. Then we explored the ship, we were impressed, the public areas area beautiful and seem in good repair. We were not as impressed with the cabins, and cabin hallways. Carpets stains, faded, banged up doors.

Our Cabin 7666: It was nice, but could still use some updating and repairs. I love the location, and it was nice and quiet most of the trip. The balcony was amazing, nice and big, with amazing views (but we could barely open and close the door, definately needs some work/repair) The Art work on the walls has not been updated like some cabins and really dates the room...I think the artwork maybe older than the ship, it was horrible. The bathroom was nice/clean and updated, the full tub was nice(but the ammonia/sewage smells constantly coming from the drains was awful!)

I remember reading another review about this cabin from awhile back, and it reffered to a little access door near the restroom, and having a smell coming from it, and the cruiser asked for tape to block the smell. While we did not smell anything coming from the door, the tape is still there! (Also, one night when we were getting ready for dinner, a crew member came to the door and needed to get into that door, he opened up, did some things with the pipes, closed it back up, pressed the tape back around the door, and left)

The Bed in our cabin was old, and the mattress definately needs replaced in this cabin, very old and saggy. The bedframe also would creek every time the ship got rocking back and forth, and the seas were rough. I didn't mind the size of the cabin, and loved the walk in closet. They did take out the sitting chairs in this cabin, there is only the couch and desk chair. There is a long walk to this cabin, but we didn't mind, we actually loved the location, and needed the exercise after all the desserts we had.

Staff/crew: The room attendants were great, and nothing was ever overlooked there.

Loved the cruise director, so funny.

Never met an unhappy crew member, everyone we talked to was friendly and kind.

The food: We ate at Chops the first night, Amazing, Amazing, Amazing!

The next two nights we ate in the dinning room, and were seated at the same table each time (we had my time dining, and just showed up) Had the same staff, who were amazing. And we enjoyed the food and desserts both nights...The staff even brought us extra desserts to try, and sample. My drink never got empty before a new one arrived. We ate at the windjammer once for breakfast, and only once, the food was cold...not good. Ate there for lunch, it was just ok, I was disappointed. We never did order room service. But we did pre-order vanilla cupcakes, delicious!

This is my Dining room horror story though...We were at a table in the upper level, right next to the balcony. Leave it to me, to drop my butter knife..all the way down to the next level. Luckily no one was hurt, the knife fell on a tray some how... I was horrified! I wanted to run and hide.

The entertainment: I enjoyed the entertainment, Loved the Magic show. The love and marriage show was so funny. The theater is beautiful, but did have some drink holders taped up, and in need of repair.

Hmmmm... What else, ...We are not big drinkers, so can't say too much about the bars, We didn't end up gambling too much either (the casino did smell like smoke) The shops on the ship are nice, a good variety, and they always had stuff going on there..

Oh the spa... Yup, I loved the spa. I tried a Hot stone massage, and it was the best massage I have ever had. I wanted to go back, but the cruise wasn't long enough.

I will try to post some pictures as well... Let me know if you have any questions and I will try to answer them

On the same cruise with you. Never had cold food for breaksfast, ,most morning so hot you had to blow on it to eat it! But we ordered fresh made eggs. The hard boiled eggs were so hot you could not hold them.

Also thought the magic show was awesome! He was really good. Hated the comedian. Overall a great cruise. Love the Enchantment, I think it is a really nice ship and hubby really liked it as well.

I wish our food had been that hot! I didn't like my cold sausage. We wondered if they were having problems with the warmers... When we had lunch there, our food was plenty warm. It was just the one morning that our food was cold. We had breakfast the next day in the main dining room, and that was so good!
