Making a flight out of Rome

My husband and I are docking in Rome and leaving on a flight out of Rome airport at 11:55. Does anyone think that is pushing it? We are aware that the port and airport is about 50 minutes away.

I think you'll be ok. We got off early and took the royal transfer and arrived by 8:30 am.

Awesome! That is what we thought. We're doing the transfers so we should be okay. We were on hold with RC for 40 minutes trying to discuss this with them but never got through. They must be offering some great deals since on a Saturday night at 10pm you can't get a hold of anyone because everyone is busy. Haha.

Depending on the day of the week, the lines are VERY long. Make sure you are dropped off @ the right Terminal as it's very confusing there. We thought we had plenty of time and barely made our flight thanks to the lines and confusion. We travel for a living, so this was not a first for either of us. Just be prepared and you'll be fine.

Rome Cabs got us to the airport by 9, but you do need to know that you essentially check in twice at the airport. First check in at your normal airline, with screening, and then they take you to a different terminal for a second screening.

 

In our case we actually went to an airport hotel, dropped our luggage, and then took the train into Rome, followed by express train to Pompeii. But the next day we did find out about the double screening.

I agree with what has been said.

Getting off of the ship was a breeze, but the lines at the airport were

terrible and nothing moved quickly.

And then you get to the real terminal and do it all over again, very slowly.

 

Allow time for the airport!
