Isa65 Posted March 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2014 There is a new service when you drop off your rental car at the downtown Avis or Budget location. They have a shuttle taking you to the port for free. I haven't asked about pick up service, we just used their drop off service last week.
wrigley80 Posted March 10, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2014 Really??? That's good to know. Is this a shuttle from the downtown location on 2nd street in Miami. We were just there in December and our taxi ride from Budget to the port was $18.

You will need to wait for a couple of minutes for more passengers to load on the shuttle, but it's FREE. This must be brand new, as we were there in December as well and there was no shuttle. It would be interesting to know if they do port pick ups (I forgot to ask), since we get SERIOUS attitude from cab drivers at the port when we tell them we're only going to 2nd street. Thanks so much again for posting this. I am looking at a 5-day cruise on the Victory for my birthday in October and we always rent from Budget. I will definitely be utilizing their service in October

ALadyNCal Posted April 14, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 14, 2014 We are doing this with Budget too :) How long did it take to drop off the vehicle, get the shuttle, and get dropped at the pier? Trying to decide if we should have DH drop most of us at the pier first or just have everyone go to Budget & do the shuttle. Thanks!

Trying to decide if we should have DH drop most of us at the pier first or just have everyone go to Budget & do the shuttle. Thanks! It took about 20 minutes because we had to wait for the van to fill up. I would recommend for your husband to drop you (or the luggage) off first. Then fill up the car with gas near the Budget office and then drop off the car.
ALadyNCal Posted April 15, 2014 #8 Share Posted April 15, 2014 Thank you. Also -- how long is the drive between the Budget office and the NCL pier?
JohninDC Posted April 15, 2014 #9 Share Posted April 15, 2014 Thank you. Also -- how long is the drive between the Budget office and the NCL pier? Depending upon traffic and lights, between 5-10 minutes.
GfromOH Posted February 8, 2015 #10 Share Posted February 8, 2015 We used Budget in January 2015. We did a pick up at FLL and drop at 2nd Street in Miami. If you call the Miami office number you receive a message of their transfer to POM timings. Unfortunately for us, they did not highlight that it was only available on Wed-Sun from 8am to 2PM. Thus, we can only tell you they are a $7.50 cab ride to the port.
