Tampa Hotel

Doing a little research early. We are cruising early August out of Tampa. Last time we went out of Tampa we came in the morning of the cruise. This time we are coming in the night before but not till late. Our flight arrives at TPA at 11:40pm. Any suggestions for a hotel that is close to the airport since its so late and we will just want to get right to bed by the time we get luggage etc.

Look at hotels in the Westshore area. All of the major brands have properties here. They are all close to the airport and should have an airport shuttle (may want to verify based on the time). If not they are a quick cab ride from the airport. They also are close to 2 malls and other shopping for any last minute items you may need the next morning.

Hotels in the Rocky Point area are another option -- a little farther but they also offer airport shuttles (check to see if they run that late) plus free port shuttles. Holiday Inn and Chase Suites are often suggested among others.

 

Avoid the area near the Tampa stadium - unless you like the strip joint crowd. :o

Do you need a cruise pkg with shuttle? If not, I would suggest the LaQuinta Tampa Airport. Less than 5 minutes from the airport, decent rates and a 24 hr IHOP adjacent to the hotel. They do have an airport shuttle that runs late as well .
