Any idea what caused them not to have limes that week?

I was sailing on a Celebrity ship at that time. For whatever reason (I've forgotten) lime prices jumped dramatically due to a shortage. Like ten times or so. Many lines just decided to forgo limes rather than pay so much more. Supply got back to normal, prices dropped back and, voila!, limes reappeared.
