Per Adam Goldstein re Quantum deployment

Recommended Posts

Makes no sense to create all this buzz and not have it ready for booking...by the time it's ready, interest will be dropping off a bit.

Uhm. Maybe because they have the first 5 months of the boat out for booking? Lol since last spring?

They are talking about Summer 2015 deployment.

Itineraries are typically cyclical and run on some kind of a 1, 2 or 3 week revolving calendar... so the 9 day Bermuda/Caribbean ran with the 5 day Bermuda in a typical summer intinerary from Bayonne... You see bigger ships on the weekly cruises running on a 1 week eastern then 1 week western cycle out of Florida. Out of Baltimore, you see a 8 night Bahamas running with a 6 night Bermuda for part of the year and a 12 day southern Caribbean is typically followed by a 9 night of some sort to round out the weeks and keep the ship on a pattern. You will see the pattern if you watch for it. The lines do this for a reason, I am sure... but chances are you won't see a 9 night cruise on a loop on the same ship or from the same departure port.

However, I could be totally wrong and the lines might want to really throw out the 'rule-book' and they may decide that that 9-night loop is what they want to do... I wouldn't hazzard to guess at this point. I personally would love to see a 9-night or 10/11 night loop run all summer from Bayonne. A 5 night in the summer is too short a vacation for me. I like my quickie 5 and 7 night cruises in the Fall when I am going without the kids.

I saw that....oh well...I can practice my patience.

If Bermuda is the real issue, they should just replace Bermuda on the 9 Day Caribbean sailings and keep those the entire Summer.

Agreed

I second that motion....

Many of the sailings from November 2014 through April 2015 looked like they are entirely sold out. My wife and I prefer cruising in May or June and are anxious to book the Quantum. Hopefully the bookings will open soon.

As someone has mentioned, perhaps the projected five-night cruises could go the Canada and for the nine-night cruises, a stop in Nassau, Coco Cay, or Labedee could replace Bermuda.

I would like to do a 5 night to Canada. I should be easy enough to do a 5 night run that hits Halifax and Bar Harbor. its only about 520 NM from New York to Halifax, so very easy to make with the first day as a Sea day.

Of course this wouldnt work in January, but could be very popular May through October.

Agreed

Ditto, It could be replaced by CoCo Cay or another island in the Eastern Carribean. Thats "If" Bermuda was a problem.
