Does RCI allow you to bring soda on board?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if RCI will allow you to bring soda on board? Carnival lets you bring a "reasonable amount". This is our first cruise with RCI and was wondering if they will object. We also bring on a collapsable cooler that the room stewart keeps full of ice when we cruise Carnival.

My DH only drinks Diet Dr. Pepper so we try to bring a supply for seven days!

Looking forward to cruising RCI, I hope it is as good as everyone is telling us.

Thanks,

We were planning on checking the soda with luggage (not carry on). That seems like it will be our best bet. $42.00 X 2 adults and $28.00 X 3 kids = $168.00! It would be impossible to drink $168.00 in soda! ($5.00 a case to carry on). I can use the savings in the Casino!

I am here to tell you that on June 5 th we sailed on the Mariner. I brought an entire suitcase of Caffenine Free Diet Pepsi. I am not a Coke fan.. we also brought about 12 bottles of Aquafina and 2 boxes of Crystal Lite singles. NO ONE SAID A WORD. It was a checked bag.... we used the suitcase to pack dirty clothes and souveniers for the ride home. I had people asking me where they could get a bottle of Pepsi. I brought "my" Pepsi to the buffet and to the pool. We also did the same with the Crystal Lite. Oh ya, I also had in there 20 juice boxes for the kids. They are NOT soda drinkers so the soda cards would have been a waste for me. The kids drink a few Virgin Pina Colada's. Dont be scared no one bother you... Good Luck.. P... PS.. didnt have a single drink left at the end of the week:p

They will only allow to bring drinks onboard that they do not serve on the ship or anything you need for a medical reason. You are best off calling the cruise line for a clarification on that.
Steve, DO NOT call RC on this question. Just do what you wish. It's a "don't ask, don't tell" situation. They'll tell you, ABSOLUTELY NOT. Just do it. No one has yet reported having their soda or water confiscated at the point of embarkation.
