Yes, of course, the Maitre de will be in a room changing dining options on boarding day - find out which room he is in and ask.

 

In my experience the later dining option has always been more popular on MSC - don't know why but it seems the Europeans like to eat later - I've never had a problem changing to first seating.

Which is precisely why I always get the earlier.

 

Not because the Europeans will be there, if anything that would be a draw for me. But just because of the crawling, creaking biomass that I have to stand in line with.

You can ask your agent, or call MSC if you booked with them, and if not available, they will put you on a waiting list! But you may not get everything you want, like how big a table, which dining room, etc.!
