Carnival Homer sailing RCCL NOS...Tell Me...

...what can I expect, process/rule wise, to be different from Carnival?

 

Traveling with my wife and two teenage boys.

 

From reading these RCCL posts, is it true that:

 

1. You have to make a reservation to see a show? Is that all shows?

 

2. You have to wait to be seated at the buffet?

 

3. You need a ticket to get off the ship in the various ports?

 

4. You cannot wear a casual pair of shorts, golf shirt and sandals in the MDR on non-formal nights?

 

5. Food is not available 24 hours a day?

Reservations are not required for shows on NOS. they do pass out free tickets for the ice shows on the first sea day but I have never had a problem getting in without one

Buffet you find your own seat or they will help you find one if you are having difficulty have never had a wait

No tickets to get off at a port

Should be fine for non-formal night you won't be turned away

Some on this foram will have absolute fit about my saying this. Oh we'll!

My experiences have been:

 

No tickets for shows, except the ice show. Some ships have a ticket process for that. Not sure about Navigator.

 

Buffet seating will be just like Carnival.

 

Walk off ports do not require tickets. Tendering to ports will, just like Carnival.

 

No matter what anyone says, do not be certain about being able to wear shorts in the MDR for dinner, formal or otherwise. On my last two RCI cruises on two different ships, shorts were not allowed on any nights (other than the first if luggage did not arrive), strictly enforced. Not "having a fit." It is what occurred.

 

Navigator should have food available in the Promenade Cafe (if it still exists) just about around the clock. Explorer (same class) did.
