ValerieJo Posted April 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2014 We haven't been on a ship with this restaurant yet. We've been to Portofino and Chops several times. I understand this is served family style. We are debating eating here one night on our next cruise. There would be 5 of us. So if we each order a different entrée, would each serve 5 people? I'm not understanding how the family style works with a group. Also, what is your opinion of GT? Thanks.
CntPAcruiser Posted April 7, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2014 (edited) Family style is primarily for the appetizers/starters, I believe. You can get a variety to share. Also, you could each get an entrée (which I believe are portioned for one) and share, or get fewer (or more), depending on how much food you need by that point. There will be no shortage of food, and the waitstaff will walk you through the process. We've enjoyed GT generally, although we haven't had great luck with the entrees and desserts. The starters, salads, and pasta dishes have been very good, however. In any case, it was better than our experience with Portofino. dodgeball24 Posted April 7, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2014 Love it, great appetizers you can share, lamb chops were Excellent, shared two pasta dishes, and there were good deserts but I was full, ok I tried a cannoli. They have land and sea entree's to choose from and you choose from multiple pasta dishes, great place for family style to pass around multiple dishes and appetizers would be my first choice to eat, actually on 7 day Seranade ate there first and last night because great way to start and/or end a cruise.
