We will have be staying in Secaucus NJ near the train station. We have been to NYC several times pre-911 attack. We have one day (Friday Sept 26) and would like to visit the WTC memorial and 911 museum (opening in Spring 2104).

If anyone could help with best way to get to the WTC my Secaucus location, it will be appreciated. Not opposed to taxi it that is easier.

The hotel has a free shuttle to the train station in Secaucus.

Start off with a taxi(Secaucus Taxi) or the hotel shuttle to the Secaucus Junction Station. Many hotels offer a shuttle, but often with limited hours, primarily in the morning and afternoon rush hours. From Secaucus Junction you can take a train to Hoboken for $2.75/pp. Inbound there are at least 7 trains an hour up until 10:00 am. From Hoboken you take Path to the World Trade Center for $2.50/pp. To return, just reverse the trip.

If you end up in midtown at the end of the day, you want to go to New York Penn Station at 32nd & 8th to catch a NJ Transit Train to Secaucus Junction. So if your plans are not fixed, don't buy return tickets until you are ready to return.
