Getting to your room with FTTF

But keep in mind sometimes your cabin may still not be ready when you board. We are platinum and were the 5th and 6th people to board on the Legend a few weeks ago. We went to our cabin and it wasn't ready. I checked a half hour later and it was ready even though the rest of the cabins in our hallway were still being cleaned. So the cabin stewards do have a list to work from.

Just be prepared to show them your boarding docs or your platinum card - too many people that have not earned or paid for the privilege have been abusing it, so the stewards have begun asking you to prove you belong there. We had that experience on the Elation - our steward later apologized (we weren't offended) and explained that they were going to start enforcing this because too many people were coming through the doors that shouldn't be.

So if you're a scoffer (cheater), you either better move fast or rethink your plans. :p

As noted above, sometimes the cabin isn't ready, but you CAN put your "stuff" in the cabin, and close the door. Just inform the steward that you're going to do that, and put the stuff in a closet, or somewhere out of his way, so he can finish the job of getting your cabin ready. Sure makes it lots easier to get some lunch at the buffet, without having to carry your carry-on luggage around with you. NO PROBLEM.

We booked FTTF for our ELation cruise this June. We just want the convenience of being able to drop off all our carry ons before roaming the ship. We will make sure to have our FTTF paper work with us and ready to show the stewards. Thanks for the heads up.

We had FTTF and there was a sign on the door that said for Platinum and FTTF guests please come in your rooms are ready. We walked right in. Walked right to our room. Our door was still propped open, but our steward was right next door and walked right up to greet us and ushered us into our room and said hello and asked us if we needed anything. We said no and thanked him for having our room ready, told him we would just be dropping off our bags and then we left. It was simple as that. We went to get lunch and then came back to check if our luggage was there, it was probably around 12:30-1pm and it had already arrived so I took the time to unpack!

You'll have a sticker on the back of your Sail and Sign card that says FTTF, which should be sufficient proof you belong there :p

When we boarded the Glory last week the doors were unlocked, our room was ready, and our Steward was there working on other rooms. Came right out and introduced himself, we dropped our stuff off and went to lunch. Easy peasy.

How early did you arrive and then board for this trip?

Thank yo!

Yep. We didn't even have anyone challenge us, went to our room which was ready, met our steward, and got everything unpacked and put away. It was really nice to get all that done and then head up to lunch without having to haul our stuff around.

Side benefit: by the time we'd unhurriedly finished unpacking, the lunch lines had abated and it was a very relaxed experience.

It was also really nice skipping the lines at Guest Services the couple times we needed to do something. Just walked up to the side lane for Platinum/FTTF and we were served next.

We had FTTF on our 4/6 Legend. They were late boarding because of a Coast Guard inspection. But we went straight to our room - no one questioned us. We dropped our stuff and went to lunch. When we went back by the big door was shut. A little elderly couple were standing there waiting for the doors to be opened. We just opened it and went through. Their mouths fell open.

We were sad that FTTF was sold out for our trip, but were very happy to see that we didn't need it anyway. Got to the port around 11... was on board by noon, and doors were open and room was ready just after 1pm. All without spending extra on FTTF.

Either we got lucky with really fast cleaners, or, it's really not necessary to buy it.

We arrived about 10:45. No waiting except we sat about 5 minutes before they started boarding. We were on the ship about 11:05.

I didn't want to leave our carryons in the cabin until the cabin was ready because I had a very expensive medical machine (oxygen concentrator) and my cameras.

We arrived to Port of Miami for the Liberty at about 10:30. There wasn't much of a line yet and I think most were receiving boarding number 2. We had FTTF so we received cards for that. We sat down and did wait until after 11. I did hear that on that day there was some sort of short delay and we didn't board until after 11:30, but still, they were really fast with the boarding process!
