fishing?

Anyone know anything about fishing in Playa del Carmen? We will be in PDC on the NCL Sun in Dec '05.

 

I am thinking about going to either Puerto Aventuras or Akumal. I understand they are only about 15 minutes away. I like the idea of Akumal because of La Buena Vida and the dive shop next door that does fishing and snokeling in the cenotes and there is (supposed to be anyway) a good snorkeling lagoon right there too but I think the fishing in Puerto Aventuras may be better although seems more expensive. The day we are in PDC is my husbands b-day and he wants fishing but I don't want to miss out on the cenotes and La Buena Vida sound fabulous.

 

Also wondering about transportation to these places. Better off renting a car or taxi??

 

Any suggestions????
