Princess #2": Snow White!

 

 

 

 

We were first in line for the princesses so this went really quickly. The Personal Navigator also listed Disney Movie Trivia at the same time as the princess gathering and also in the D Lounge.

 

The D Lounge actually divides into 2 separate rooms, So while the princesses were in the main part of the D Lounge, trivia was in the back part.

I have seen my fair share of Disney movies over the years and I'm normally really good at trivia, but these questions were hard! I think I only got like 6 out of 20. The group with 3 kids aged 6-12 won easily! It was still fun though!

 

One other thing I want to mention here, while we were playing trivia a bar waiter came around and we ordered drinks. We also asked for milk for Allison which he said they didn't have at the bar. But when he returned he had our drinks and he had gone to one of the restaurants and gotten Allison the milk we had requested as well. Just another example of Disney's remarkable service on board.

 

I really liked the lighted walls in the D Lounge. They blinked and flash and did various patterns at different times. Pretty cool.

After getting my butt kicked at trivia we decided to just wonder around the ship for a little while to see what we had missed in our short time aboard. It felt like we just got here and it was almost time to go home again. Too bad!

 

One area of the ship that we had not made it to at all so far was the sports deck.

Great pictures; my question is: after all said and done, which is the better cruise experience, Carnival or Disney? Have you sailed on the Breeze? what I'm reading on these threads; you can sail a 7-8 day cruise for the price of a 3/4 Day Disney cruise. What do you say? Thanks for your feedback. I ask these questions because my wife and I will be taking our six grandkids on a cruise; ages 2-17. They have been on Freedom of the Seas and we are looking at, Disney Dream/Fantasy, NCL Getaway, Carvival Breeze, or Royal Allure.

I like Carnival, and will sail with them again. That said, I think a Disney cruise is a must at least once, especially with kids. Disney offers a superior product to Carnival, though certainly at a premium price. I def think Disney is worth it at least once, though we certainly plan to do Disney again as well once Allison is a little older and will remember it more.

 

I have not but on the Breeze, but have heard very good things about it. And I really really want to do the 8-day Southern that Breeze offers (Grand Turk, La Roma, Aruba, and Curacao)

 

With Carnival I always chose based on the ports. On Disney its more about the ship than the ports, though Castaway Cay is awesome, and I would def do an itinerary with a stop there on your first Disney cruise.

 

If you are choosing between the 3-day and 4-day Disney Dream, def chose the 4-day. You really need at least one sea day to enjoy more of the ship, and the prices are usually about the same when I have looked. We only chose the 3-day because it meant taking less vacation days so early in the year since its over the weekend instead of M-TH like the 4 day.

 

I have not sailed with NCL, or RCI yet, so not sure about those, but give Disney a try in my opinion.

One final think to do before calling it a night. The fun farewell party! This is most definitely another one of the can't miss events on board, if you have children and want one last chance at character pictures! Unfortunately for us, Allison fell asleep before the party started, so we didn't get anymore character pics with her, but we stayed to see the party anyway and just let her sleep in her stroller.

The farewell party includes all the "main" characters (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip n' Dale) as well as a few Disney princesses. The 3 princesses we had were Ariel, Snow White, and the princess from Princess and the Frog, I can't remember her name.

 

It was fun, they introduced each and then had some photo time where you could do pictures with whichever character(s) you wanted, and then a song and dance before they all said see ya real soon!

After the party was over it was back to the cabin for bed. Debarkation comes WAY TOO EARLY! But first I have 2 more towel animal pics. (I posted the same one at the end of the first nights by mistake.)

We had planned to go to Enchanted Garden for breakfast the next morning since we missed dinner there the night before (your assigned breakfast dining room for debarkation morning is the same as your final night's dinner.), but breakfast is really really early. Like 645 early! and we did not make it up that early. So unfortunately we never got to see the inside of Enchanted Garden. O well just more reason to take another Disney cruise! (As if I needed another reason!?)

 

After we finally got up it was off to Cabanas for breakfast again, which was wonderful just like every other morning.

 

Debarkation was pretty easy, though a little slow. It was quick to get to the luggage area and we found our bags very quickly. I must say I love the zoned luggage system with each area having an assigned character. We had zone Daisy.

 

Once we got out luggage the line to get through customs was pretty darn slow. The man who helped us with our bags said they only had 3 customs officers working which was about half of what they usually had according to him. Once it was our turn the officer just glanced at our stuff and sent us on our way. Very easy.

 

Our friend that lives in Pt. Canaveral picked us up in our car, we drove back to her place dropped her off, told her all about our cruise, and no long after we were on our way back to Ohio after a WONDERFUL, yet all too short getaway. We will absolutely take another Disney cruise, it was fabulous. Next up is hopefully a 7-day on the Fantasy in the second half of 2015. (We are getting married in April of 2015, so the first half of the year is shot with a destination wedding and a honeymoon.)

 

I can't wait to set foot on a Disney Cruise ship again! While you do pay a premium for a Disney cruise, its worth every penny. If you have children (and honestly even if you don't) everyone should try a Disney cruise at least once, you will be glad you did!

Allison was 1.5 on this trip, and I know she of course won't remember any of it, but we have wonderful memories and pictures from the trip. It was SO MUCH FUN for us, to see her reaction when she got on the ship the first day, and when she saw Minnie for the first time! It really was priceless. And to me that is totally worth it, even if she won't remember it. But we plan on taking her again as well once she is a little older. It was a wonderful trip.
