Guarantee Cabin Question

We booked with a "Guarantee cabin rate" for a cruise this coming weekend and still haven't gotten an assigned cabin. If you have booked a guarantee rate, when did you get you assigned cabin? Thanks for the info.

My PVP told me that it could be up to 24 hours before.

I booked a last minute guarantee in February (about 8 days out) and didn't get the room assignment until about 3 days before the cruise. Just keep checking your cruise docs online and one of these times it will be there. So much fun.

It's also possible that you won't know until you check in at the pier. Rumor has it that the longer you wait the better the cabin. May not always be true. Have fun on your cruise.

I didn't know that for most of our previous cruises the DH had booked these kinds of rooms. Sometimes we got the cabin no. a week out and sometimes about 24 hours out. It didn't matter to him and I never even had a clue!:eek: Always had a decent inside cabin, which is the level the DH would book. Always had a great time! Hope you do too!:D

I'd imagine cabin assignment depends on unsold inventory for that type/class of cabin. Perhaps when all the cabins for a particular level sell out then they do the Guarantee assignments.

 

Just guessing though, but that'd explain the variability.

 

Personally I prefer to choose my cabin. Guarantee has never been enough of a cost difference for me to roll the dice. (no, I don't gamble in the casino either, go figure... :cool: )
