Walk from Mystic Mountain to Dinn's River?

Thinking about doing a ship excursion at Mystic Mountain but then also Dunn's River Falls. I don't really have any interest in the tour or the human chain thing for the falls so don't want to pay for that tour. But could I walk to Dunn's River falls, pay the park admission and just walk the stairway alongside on my own? Would I have enough time for this if I do the Mystic Mountain ship excursion too?

they are close together so distance wise it is doable

but no sidewalks plus "island drivers" makes this ill advised unless you are very familiar with island ways

DRF is a park, once you pay for a day's admission you can do what ever you want .. there is no 'additional charge' to climb the falls (unless you tip a guide). So yes, you can just use the walkway and look ... you can even get your tootsies wet at any of the climb out spots.
