clamar Posted April 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2014 I just booked a cruise for May 4, 2015 and chose stateroom D356 mid-ship (Full ocean view) on the Lower Promendade deck. It is 181 square feet. This morning I was booking at the deck plan and noticed the four rear staterooms EE 418, 419, 420 and 421 appear larger and have read many reviews on how great these "end units" are. I would appreciate some input from those who have sailed in any of these staterooms whether on the Ryndam or any of the other HAL ships. Thanks:p Clamar
catl331 Posted April 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2014 (edited) We were in Veendam 418, and yes, it was about a foot wider than the side LP cabins. We could pass in the hallway! :) We also liked that we were very close to an outside door, yet it got very little traffic since it was down at the end of the hallway. For the Veendam (at least) the deck plans are incorrect: along the side of 418 is not a corridor, but a storage room of some kind, so the doorway out is next to 420 on the port side. I believe that in 356 you would have a "see through" grate railing, while for the stern four it is a solid steel. When we had it 2.5 years ago it was a D cabin ... but probably priced about the same as an EE now. :) See pictures and comments at http://halfacts.com/418-veendam/ http://halfacts.com/419-ryndam-ov/ http://halfacts.com/420-maasdam-ov/ Edited April 26, 2014 by catl331
