EOS junior suite aft cabin or mid ship? Anyone have one of these?

Recommended Posts

Hi, we are planning to book our first junior suite on the EOS, but are confused about which to take. We love the balcony and spend tons of time on it, so a bigger balcony is very appealing Our choices are a mid ship js on deck 10 where we have family staying, or an aft cabin on deck 7. We are leaning toward the aft cabin, but not being able to see the water is upsetting. How much bigger is the aft balcony than mid ship, I need to weigh if the size is worth losing the view. Do you only get lounge chairs on an aft balcony? Do they all have them? Does anyone have pix's of balconies on 7394, 7692 or similar? Thanks so much for the help.

We were in 7394 last February. Loved it. How many people will be sharing your cabin? It was my DH, son and daughter. The sofabed was very hard and narrow for two kids. We got a rollway and that worked much better. A little crowded but we just folded it up during the day.

Any other questions?

You can see the water from an aft balcony, you just can not look straight down to see it. The larger balconies are worth it because you can have multiple lounge chairs plus regular chairs back there. We had cabin 1394 on the Navigator OTS and it was fantastic. Our next cruise on the Explorer OTS, all of the afts were gone, so this time we will be on the Hump. First time, so we will see how good that is.

We're booked in 7692 on the Mariner in Oct so I can't tell you specifically today but if you do some searches here (use all 4 Deck 7 cabins to search, one at a time) and on Webshots, I think the aft cabins will be worth it. Most posts I've seen have said you can fit 2 lounge (not sitting, but LOUNGING) chairs, plus a table + some sitting chairs on the balcony.

You won't get as much sun because of being in the back, under deck 8, but the balconies look to be huge. I think someone posted somewhere that they thought it was 8x10 or 8x12 feet.

I will report back in October if that helps!

Thanks for the great picture. Hubby is still giving me a hard time, he wants to be able to look down at the water and look for dolphins, fish, etc.... He gets a kick out of that and am I right that we will not be able to do it in the aft?

Does anyone know if the js cabins on side of ship fit lounge chairs on their balcony? Also in the js how much bigger is bathroom and soemone told me it has a walk in closet, is this true?

Do you have to arrange for the rollaway in advance or do they have them around? I didn't realize both kids had to share the sofabed, on carnval we had a bunk that came out of ceiling so I assumed it was like that.

Thanks for your help this cruise is costing almost double the price of our last one so although I really want the JS I have to be able to justify spending all this money.

Thanks.

We asked our cabin steward for the rollaway and after his comment of "they are brother and sister, they are supposed to sleep together" (not in my house) he brought it for us and made it up each night.I don't think the bathroom is any bigger but it does have a tub and a clothes drying string. I would not describe the closet in 7394 as a walk-in but it was plenty big enough for 4 people. The view straight down from the balcony was a large gray deck. You do have to look out straight and through the supports to see the water, but the balcony is much larger.
