KimNLyssCruisin Posted July 31, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 31, 2005 Hello, Has anyone ever booked the Royal Suite on the Radiance of the Seas? If so, would you be willing to provide some insight into the "coincerge service" and wheter or not alcohol is included with the wet bar in the Royal Suite? :) Thanks a lot! CAT GIRL Posted August 1, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2005 We were in the Royal Suite on the Enchantment. They provided us with four bottles of alcohol which we were able to switch out to our liking. The canned soda is free. I can't tell you about the concierge since the Enchantment didn't have one at that time. No real special treatment besides the fabulous room. KimNLyssCruisin Posted August 1, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted August 1, 2005 Thanks Cat Girl! Anyone else able to give some insight into the Royal Suite? We are evaluating booking it -- as we will be sailing with a group of about 26 -- we think this might be a good place to entertain -- provided we won't get hit with a huge bill for everyone's alcohol.
CAT GIRL Posted August 2, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 2, 2005 Oh, it's a wonderful place to entertain. We wanted to invite everyone we met to see our room. We had one get together with the people from our dinner table. We told our room steward in advance and slipped him a $20. He set us up with extra glasses and a container of ice. We had to order orange juice and pineapple juice from room service. For some reason they couldn't send up a pitcher of juice, we had to tell them how many glasses we wanted. Since we had a bottle of Kahlua we asked our waiter for some cream while we were at dinner. We had our party on a formal night. One of our guests knew how to play the piano and he entertained us. It was a very memorable night for us. I think there was a bottle of champagne in the room when we got there. I'm not a champagne drinker so I think my MIL snatched it. Then I think a bottle of wine was delivered sometime during the week. Again, not a wine drinker so I think my MIL snatched that too. On the first day the room steward had told us that the canned soda in the room was free. He replenished it daily with what we wanted but when the bill came we had been charged for it. A trip to the front desk fixed that problem right away. I say get the room!! Have a wonderful time.
KimNLyssCruisin Posted August 2, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted August 2, 2005 :D Cat Girl, Thanks again! Well, you convinced us -- we're booked in the Royal Suite. Only question is -- Were you charged for the orange juice and pineapple juice you ordered through room service?

mdmourges Posted August 2, 2005 #7 Share Posted August 2, 2005 Hmmmmm. Could you throw a little more cold water on the fun? Thanks. Mark
CAT GIRL Posted August 2, 2005 #8 Share Posted August 2, 2005 There was no charge for the orange juice or pineapple juice. Just a tip for room service. I imagine you could get some help with your soiree from the concierge. Since I was on the Enchantment there wasn't one yet.

Mark LOL, Mark....the water is a bit cold -- but to each his own. I am not going to let a little cold water ruin our fun. :D

Since we are booked with a group -- I understand there will be a "RCL Group Person" on board for us too.
rubrrick Posted August 3, 2005 #12 Share Posted August 3, 2005 After having coincerge service on HAL Zuiderdam the coincerge service on RCL is a dismal failure. We did the Zuiderdam a few months ago, in April, and had our first experience with a concierge who stays in their own lounge area. We have had concierge's in the past that have come to our stateroom to fill us in on our next day travels, and any requests that need to be filled. We thought that the conceirge on the Zierderdam was way below our expectations. We have not experienced the concierge service on the Radiance Class ships yet, but are booked on the Jewel next April. We have cruised with several Diamond members, and Diamond Plus (we are still humble Platinum till the next trip ends ((Yes,Yes!!))) who have been aboard ships that have concierge lounges, and they rave over them. Tell me what I won't like about the service? Rick
darin Posted August 3, 2005 #13 Share Posted August 3, 2005 :) I sailed this spring with my family, the Royal Suite was great. This was our first sailing. The room was large, like the seperate bedroom. Traveled with our three teenage daughters, teen program was excellent. Willy our coincerge was wonderful. Yes they did have a nicely stocked bar, plenty of room for entertaining. Enjoy!!!:)
