Jimmerpro Posted May 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2014 Hi. We need a spot to meet a couple other groups debarking separately. Preferable very close to the ship but nice like a cafe or even a bar for a morning brew. ;). Thanks! Carnival Magic 6/9. (Also for later.....any hidden gems pubs?....not touristy....please let me know).
TXSAIL Posted May 1, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2014 (edited) Looks like you will be at Mahogany Bay, so meeting up is no problem there at the Carnival pier area. Once you walk out of there, there is nowhere to go so other than taking a cab to another part of the island. We were just there in March but we did not stay there, so I can't name a specific spot..Enjoy your cruise..:) Edited May 1, 2014 by TXSAIL
Rare crewsweeper Posted May 1, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 1, 2014 Just hang out at the MBCC shopping area and when their shipdocks, be standing along the long ramp that goes tot eh dock so they can see you, then meet them as they come out of the Dufry shop. If the other party is NOT on your ship and NOT docking at Mahogany Bay, you or they, which ever arrives first, will have to take a taxi, or walk to a place. I think Nardo's on Main Street in Coxen Hole could be open early. There's also Miss Jenny's about 1/2 way between Mahogany Bay and Coxen Hole along the main road on the ocean side. The airport has a coffee shop. If you are in MBCC and they are arriving later in Coxen Hole, why don't you get the taxi in MBCC and have it drive to the Pier in Coxen Hole (or just outside it) and wait for them. Guest 200, anywhere else?
OCruisers Posted May 1, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 1, 2014 You'll be docking at Mahogany Bay. Will the other couple be docking at Mahogany Bay or Coxen Hole? LuLu

OCruisers Posted May 3, 2014 #6 Share Posted May 3, 2014 Mahogany Bay is in Roatan, Honduras. Some ships dock there. Other ships dock at Coxen Hole. Just like in St. Thomas .... some ships dock at Havensight while others dock at Crown Bay. We are trying to figure out if you and your friends with be docking at the same place in Roatan. Rare crewsweeper Posted May 4, 2014 #7 Share Posted May 4, 2014 So, based on your comments, both couples are docking at Mahogany Bay? But if couple #2 is on a different ship you really need to sind out where they're docking. Then re-read the above posts. Assuming that both ate docking at MBCC, after coming off the ship and up the ramp to the shopping area, hang a right. Fat Tuesday's is right there. There's a kiosk in the building next to the main exit to the taxis that sells Honduran coffee. You can hang there or at a smoothie kiosk in the middle of the shopping area. You'll find your better beach bars in West Bay. But that's probably for after you meet up as it takes a taxi to get there. Bit on the Beach and Beachers both near Foster's West Bay Resort, are two to try. Two interesting gems, IMO, nearer Mahogany Bay: Miss Jenny's which is on the main road heading toward the airport, about a mile from the MBCC on the water side and Temporary Cal's Cantina in First Bight, which is on the same road but in the opposite direction, toward French Harbor. Great views and good food. Again, though you'll need a taxi to get to either. There is nothing but the cruise port and the related beach stuff near mahogany Bay. It's halfway between the two main south shore towns, Coxen Hole, where the other cruise ship dock is at , and French Harbor, from where the local fishing fleet sails.
