MontiD Posted May 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2014 (edited) Does anyone know how early we would be able to check-in/board if the ship sails at 8pm. We are booked this June on Millie for southbound Alaska sailing from Seward. We will be arriving via Alaska RR into seward at 11am and want to check in and possibly have lunch on board, or at least check our luggage, before we can do some sightseeing before final boarding. alcpa1 Posted May 1, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2014 The train pulls right up to the ship. If boarding has not opened you can check your luggage. The stevedores are stationed between the train and the terminal. Lunch will be waiting for you. Do take advantage of your afternoon in Seward and get off the ship and wander or take a boat tour. Have a great cruise. Alaska is awesome.

We have gone out of Seward a few times and usually arrive at the terminal around 11:15; processing was quick and we were on board the ship in no time. We have taken the Alaska Railroad to Seward a few times and it DOES NOT pull right up to the ship, it pulls into the Seward depot. However, if you are taking the ship-contracted rail cars then I believe those do pull right up to the ship. Edited May 1, 2014 by Italy52
