Price drop...

I noticed that the cost of our Summit sailing on July 20th went down in price. They were willing to drop the price of our cabin however we would loose the prepaid gratuities that we received with the 123 promo. I figured out that even with loosing the tips we would still be ahead. They discounted our cabin, added the tips back on and I still got a credit of $125 to my credit card! Woo hoo! Keep checking prices, do the math...it might just work out in your favor.

If you don't want to lose your gratuities, ask for an upgrade. IF you are happy with what you originally paid, they will upgrade you to a cabin or suite that matches that original price, with MAYBE a small price increase. I upgraded a friend's oceanview on the second deck to a C2 on the 7th with a great balcony for $5. She was very happy!!!

I got a fishy email the other night about a $300 price drop on our upcoming cruise. I called Celebrity first thing in the morning and waited patiently. When I finally got a person on the phone, I explained, he looked up our reservation and said he didn't see a price drop. He put me on hold. When he came back, I walked him through the steps to book our cruise. He looked and said the new price was only for new bookings. I looked and didn't see anything about restrictions. He put me on hold. When he came back, he said it was per cabin not per person and we'd lose our free gratuities. Since we would still save money, I said okay. He put me on hold. When he came back, I asked to upgrade the cabin from veranda to AQ2. He put me on hold. When he came back, he had a cabin for us, the free gratuities were back and we were getting an additional $100 OBC. I asked to change the cabin and he agreed. When I got the email receipt, he forgot to change the cabin, but I really don't care. For an additional $20, we upgraded from veranda to AQ2 and got extra OBC.

We're very happy!

Nice @Patty1955!! Congrats!! The way I see it the amount I'm saving just means more money to spend in the casino. We already have our drink packages, dinner reservations at Qsine and Normandie and a nigh time glassbottom boat ride. :D

Thank you. This is one of the reasons I love Celebrity. We've never taken a cruise that we didn't take advantage of a price drop and they are never any thing less than nice. Great customer service!
