Superbowl on the Gem

Was anyone on the Gem during the superbowl this past year. We are booked on the Gem next year during the game and was wondering what was done for the game. Anything special in the bars, restuarants, casino, etc. Thanks for any info.

We weren't on for the Super Bowl but we were on in Mid November. THey did show quite a few football games on the giant screen in the main Atrium. they were very well attended and people even were upstairs along the railings watching.

We were on the Gem during the "Blackout Bowl " last year (2013) between Baltimore & the 49ers.

 

The game was on the TVs in most of the bar areas (where there were TVs) as well as being broadcast ship-wide in the cabins. The big event was held in the theater.

 

The broadcast feed NCL contracted with was through ESPN. During the commercial breaks, the Asst. CD asked football related trivia questions & awarded prizes for the answers. NCL staffers also handed out bags of popcorn and other snacks... a buffet (hamburgers, hot dogs, chips & salsa, etc.) was set up in one of the large meeting rooms adjacent to the theater, and of course, the bar staff was visible throughout the game.

 

All in all, I thought they did a pretty good job.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping for some sort of party, and it looks like there will be.
