I know the feeling! Cape Liberty is a few minutes drive for us. Sometimes we go down to the pier to watch the Explorer leave.

We wish we were that close, but 5 hours isn't too bad. We have stopped flying,

so we always drive. We usually sail out of Galveston, but about 2 years ago,

we drove to New Orleans, since we had never been there.
