JenniferH Posted August 2, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2005 I saw on someone else's cruise review that their boat did not stop at Calica last week (last week of July) due to hurricane damage to the pier. I am scheduled to stop there next week, and wonder if anyone has any other insight into this? We were set to book some non-Carnival excursions and now I am thinking differently. JenniferH Posted August 4, 2005 Author #2 Share Posted August 4, 2005 I can answer my own question now. A resident said the port reopened earlier this week.
solita Posted August 9, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 9, 2005 Yes, I think I answered your question on the Cozumel board. The pier did reopen last week. Everything is fine at Calica.
agentJoey Posted September 12, 2005 #4 Share Posted September 12, 2005 I wish the Calica pier wouldn't have opened back up. I hate it. I would rather tender. Calica looks too much like a gravel mine or something industrial.
sunsetme Posted October 2, 2005 #5 Share Posted October 2, 2005 when we were there the end of august we couldn't dock due to the currents, we returned to cozumel. Its an easy ferry ride across if you don't want to stay in playa (or coz).
