Can up upgrade fr. Pack&Go inside to Pack&Go Balcony?

I booked a Pack and Go cabin. Guarantee Inside. then I got a Casino offer. So did Husband. We could not change rates, and I sort of understand that..even if it had been a little more money for Carnival to let us move.

My PVP, first time I have been a customer, was very impressive to me in how it was handled. I really like her.

My question...before I start asking for things that are forbidden..

If the balcony on my cruise....goes down to where I want to bite...and it would be more than I have currently paid..More money to carnival.. Can I upgrade from an Inside Pack and Go to a Guarantee Pack and GO if Ccarnival does make more profit on it?

thanks for any knowledge you have.

And I can never use that Casino Rate...not on that cruise...right? And I have paid. Ships sails in five weeks. and I am not unhappy with my cabin. Husband would love a balcony. We are going to the Caribbean and it is going to be hot as heck out there. But he can talk me into most anything. so...............

And mostly, I would just like to know before I ever book another one. I am pretty happy to be on that ship in the first place~ God willing, of course.

Usually, if it ends up in you paying more money to Carnival, they will allow you to upgrade.

I thought that too. But I read a post on here a few days ago by a guy who had booked an inside pack and go and somehow he had an issue.

he said that he could not change even with Carnival getting more money. I was like You..I thought that as long as you went up................it was OK.

but it does say that the deposit is not refundable. That no changes are allowed. and I think it says rate changes. But is an UPGRADE with the Category you booked..pack and go..is that allowed? He said no.

So ever since then I have been wondering exactly what can you do with a Pack and Go rate. Are y ou locked into that category.....period. And if we are..............that is OK. I just won't ever book that rate again.

I'm not familiar with the rate restrictions on the Pack & Go rates, your best bet is to call Carnival, and if you don't get the answer you want, call a few more times to verify. Sometimes you'll get somebody that will go above and beyond.

Why would they let you change? They have secured full payment for an inside that wasnt sold and now it is!

They can reduce the Pack & Go rate on a balcony as much as they like even below the inside rate you paid and sell it easier than re selling your inside without having to compensate ES bookers for the reduction.

Some may have done it but Pack & Go fares mean just that! a cheap fare to fill cabins that have not been sold or allocated to Guarantee bookers:)

Good luck with it anyway as it may happen:) But next time book Early Saver for the best close to sail date deals than can be upgraded:)

ES can not match to Pack and Go rates. I always book ES and understand that rate category well. The others not so much.

Totally agree. I have also booked early saver and LOVE that rate. LOVE it. We sailed with $700 in OBC on the Breeze. But I just booked this cruise last month. Not available. But I could have done the $50 dollar deposit and had price drops until 30 days out. I did not realize that until I read it on this board.

So that is why I am hoping someone who DID upgrade or DID NOT upgrade posts here. And again, it is not a burning issue. I am pretty happy with our cabin. We have a porthole. I have never had one. I have always wanted to try on. And sailing the end of June, it is going to be hotter than Hades. it might be hard to sit on the Balcony as much as in the fall. And I don't sit out anyway. My Husband does. He is a fish watcher. cigar chewing..Not smoking Old ex Coast Guard guy. And he always meets other old vets on other balconies and he enjoys the chatting. I enjoy him sitting out there while I get ready. But We are lucky to be on the darn cruise In the first place.

it seems they change rates so much.............I am the dumb one in the group who does not understand it..until it is too late. And again. I am thrilled to go on this cruise. Just want information for the future. We may cruise again in November for our anniversary. We live in Florida and P.C. is only three hours away. A nice drive. Miami is seven hours away. And Ft. Lauderdale is six hours away. The Fascination is here in Jax. and Tampa is three hours away.

My husband is a Florida Native. Who knew it would turn out to be a boon to cruising? No airfare or motel for most cruises. But we do stay overnight when we drive to S.Florida. We had a fender bender on the way down one time..and it worked out OK. But....it might not have.................

I booked the Pack and Go last Wednesday evening for May 31, booked an inside. The OV prices dropped a little to where it was $20 pp more so I switched to the OV guarantee. Didn't have any problems. Then my room was assigned about 2 hours later.

That is good to know. I might be tempted to get an ocean view if prices drop. Right now I am fine with our cabin if nothing happens. the one time we had an inside that did not make me sea sick that was very much towards the bow..............Totally quiet. Never heard anyone. Made sleeping a pleasure.

But for the future...that is nice to know. It makes me more interested in booking one again. For sure they are a bargain.

My favorite all time rate. Early Saver. I loved getting that OBC. and every time the price dropped and I sent in an e-mail.....I felt like I had won the Cruise fare lotto. It kept the cruise interesting for nine long months. and I got in the habit of checking prices daily and still do.

Did you call Carnival? I called but they said I couldn't change from an inside to an OV.
