Scotchies from Doctor's Cave Beach

I am thinking of taking one of the shuttle vans from Falmouth to Doctor's Cave Beach next week. Is Scotchies a safe walk from there, or should I take a cab?

It looks like the location Trip Advisor gives for scotchies is way off, and that it is actually nowhere near the Hip Strip. Any idea how much a cab would cost?

The Pork Pit (which is rumored to have better jerk/food) is within walking distance of Doctors Cave Beach. It's a bit of a walk down the Hip Strip, but a nice walk along the oceanfront.

Just a quick update: the shuttle bus that we took recommended the Pork Pit as well, and offered to pick us up from the beach and take us there. I had read a lot of recent reviews about the Pork Pit being inconsistent and the food being dry, but we must've hit it on a good day as all the pork and chicken was succulent, juicy, and amazingly flavored. It wasn't at all spicy like American jerk chicken can be, but there were a wide variety of very tasty spicy sauces to dip them in. We had ripe plantains, festival, and bammy on the side, which were all good as well.
