Name game Posted November 18, 2005 #26 Share Posted November 18, 2005 MamaMiki, where did you do that? That sounds great, just going to a beach without the whole reservation thing. By the way, besides being a fellow cruiser, I am also a fellow audiologist.
jwlane Posted November 18, 2005 #27 Share Posted November 18, 2005 Does anyone know if you can just show up at Pez or Tequila without a reservation? Of course. The reservation assures you'll have chairs waiting for you. From my experience, it's a very laid back relaxing experience, not a wild, drunken mob. airlink diva Posted November 21, 2005 #28 Share Posted November 21, 2005 Hi! I just returned from the Westerdam (11/13-11/20) I purchased the beach break from Island Marketing. I drink, but I'm not a heavy drinker. Took the van to the village. Had to walk about 5 minutes to get to Pez. Yes there are vendors along the way, but a no thanks and if you keep walking, no problem (I was traveling solo). When I arrived, I was worried because due to tropical strom Gamma, we were in port a day early. When I arrived, they were notified of the change. I was asked where I wanted my chair, what time I wanted my lunch, where the restroom were and what I wanted to drink. At the busiest, no more than 25 people in the area. Very popular with the cruise employees (about 1/3 of the people were cruise employees). Very laid back and peaceful. Had about 4 vendors during my stay (from 10:45 a.m. to 5 p.m.) come on the beach, but a quick no thanks send them off. The drinks are strong!! But they also had water and soft drinks. One thing I like about the coke is no corn syrup so they taste alot better. I had the open bar package, but the prices on the drinks and food was very reasonable and you had people coming up to buy all day. When I was ready to leave, a cab was called and I didn't have to walk the village again. I enjoyed myself and this was the best stop. 98% of the people stayed in the prier area (very crowded and commercialized). Go to the village and enjoy yourself. imatarb Posted November 22, 2005 #29 Share Posted November 22, 2005 Does anyone know if this would be age appropriate for our 7-yr. old son? Just not looking for an atmosphere that's too adult! :D Sounds like a great excursion, though!

imatarb Posted November 22, 2005 #33 Share Posted November 22, 2005 We will be there on 12/6. I think we might go for the Uvero beach excursion through RCCL. Or, we'll just grab a cab and head to Majahaul on our own.
Harvsgirl Posted November 23, 2005 #34 Share Posted November 23, 2005 Hi MamaMicki Was this right on the beach in front of Majuhual. And is there any particular restaraunt or bar that sells the drinks for these prices or is it all of them? The beach break sounds nice but we don't drink that much, so if the drinks are this cheap then this would be our best bet. How much was the taxi to the beach. Thanks
airlink diva Posted November 27, 2005 #35 Share Posted November 27, 2005 I just tried to reserve 3 spots on the Beach Break, and it's full. :( They only allow so many open bar reservations. But you can still go to Pez, the prices of the drinks and food were very reasonable.
disneyri Posted November 29, 2005 #36 Share Posted November 29, 2005 The reservation certainly can get you tons of drinks...and the chairs and shade.... but what about having a few drinks and hanging at Pez Quadro I am sure is fine too at much less then 60.00 for 2? I have the ability to make the reservation but I figure it might be nice to hit a few spots along the beach after I looked at the map? Can an all inclusive be bought on site or does Island Marketing own all the rights to that beforehand? I received an email from Island Marketing today detailing the shade, chairs, amenities and possibly turnaway from Pez Quadro if it is too busy?! Any comments appreciated on this. thanks Jay
liasophia Posted November 29, 2005 #37 Share Posted November 29, 2005 I changed my reservation for 2 from the Beach Break to the Resort Getaway on Dec. 13 this morning, so I know they should have 2 spaces available of anyone is interested. serene56 Posted December 20, 2005 #38 Share Posted December 20, 2005 I know this is an old post but it has good information. With more ships heading to Costa Maya early next year insteadof cozumel. I would also like to add--- we are not drinkers so buying this all inclusive for us would be a waste of money. We headed to Majuahul (with no reservations) the bar/resturants are across from the beach. they are many to chose from and each one is a walking distance from each other. If youbuy their food you can use their chairs free of charge. Joe and I sat at Tappas all day-- ate, dranks sodas and paid 10 bucks for the both of us. Beach was nice. water was warm. Across the way is vendors selling their stuff (be careful coz I got a wodden turtle when I got home and looked at it--it was made in china--lol

momwith2boys Posted December 21, 2005 #40 Share Posted December 21, 2005 We just returned from the Victory and did this excursion. It was alot of fun, but mostly because we drank all day. The weather was gorgeous! Michelle
iceburgh Posted December 22, 2005 #41 Share Posted December 22, 2005 We were there last year and signed up for a Kayak tour.....we decided that we did not want to do that but took the bus anyway. Bottom line if you get about1-2 miles from the ship there is ZERO people on the beach. Everything by the peir including the pool were packed. When we were there we were docked next to 1 other ship....looks as if they could dock at least 3 maybe 4 at a time so what I am telling you could all be changed when we get there this year. Peir at costa Mya http://photobucket.com/albums/v281/iceburgh/2005ncm%20cruise/?action=view¤t=IMG_0135.jpg another shot and you can see the pool and beach party http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v281/iceburgh/2005ncm%20cruise/IMG_0133.jpg some of the shops http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v281/iceburgh/2005ncm%20cruise/IMG_0129.jpg Pool http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v281/iceburgh/2005ncm%20cruise/IMG_0128.jpg beach about 1.5 miles away http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v281/iceburgh/2005ncm%20cruise/IMG_0122.jpg another you can see the ship and how far we were....not that far can take a taxi or ride a bike http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v281/iceburgh/2005ncm%20cruise/IMG_0096.jpg Beach club http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v281/iceburgh/2005ncm%20cruise/IMG_0067.jpg
