Clothing for Northern Norway & the Baltic

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

My wife and I are departing on a June 1 cruise that sees us go to northern Norway as well as the usual ports in the Baltic, we depart from Copenhagen.

My question is to people who have visited these areas as to what clothing to bring? I am assuming that layering is the best option, but I would be interested in what to wear in the coolest temperatures.

Thanks,

Malcolm

It won't be as cold as Toronto in winter. Wear the same clothes in Norway as you would in the same temperature in Canada.

Incidentally, how do you get to Northern Norway on a Baltic cruise? Which ports?

We went to Svalbard mid August took our down coats as well as hats & mitts

& we used them in some of the northern ports ;)

North Cape was cold wet & windy ..... some days it was nice enough for light jacket

You can check the weather statistics for June it is in the 40's low 50's for Honningsvaag

Sourth Norway you may get t-shirt weather or a light jacket day

Enjoy

Mmmmmm, I want to go too. (Though not at those prices.:()

Then bear in mind that the North Cape is over a thousand miles away from Copenhagen. They (probably) won't have the same weather.

Of course the southern part of Norway & the Baltic areas may be warmer

We did the Baltic in mid June you do need a warmer jacket (light fleece will work) I have a Marks Fleece I take everywhere if cooler I put my rain jacket over it to break the wind

A rain jacket is always a good idea

I always take a foldable rain jacket with a hood ...umbrellas are not good in windy areas ;)

We had 50 to mid 70's for the Baltic ports but each year it could be different

Be prepared for any weather

I like to check this site for the statistics

Enjoy your trip
