sabesh Posted May 26, 2015 #26 Share Posted May 26, 2015 (edited) Glad you enjoyed. The food is always topnotch in BW - with a corresponding price-point. As to the 'ambience' - 'granddaughter or hooker' replaces 'headset or headcase' as our people-watching game of choice when we walk through the doors of this or the handful of other 'places to be seen at' restos in town;-) Lol. BTW, Miku was spectacular! I've never had Fusion sushi that good before. And, first time trying out Aburi-style Sushi. I'm happy to hear that they'd be opening up a joint in the Toronto area, where I live. Some pics: Edited May 26, 2015 by sabesh

Urban trekker Posted June 2, 2015 #29 Share Posted June 2, 2015 There is also the Tap and Barrel at the Convention Center - just across from the Cactus Club http://www.tapandbarrel.com/#locations/2 Cheers! Dennis
Rare martincath Posted June 2, 2015 #30 Share Posted June 2, 2015 Within about half a mile there are two branches of Hapa Izakaya, Hons/ChongQing/Kirin for Cantonese/Szechuan/fancier Chinese respectively, Tableau for French bistro fare, Forage for extreme locavore PNW cuisine, Five Sails for pricey-but-excellent Euro fine dining with a view... really, there are so many different genres and price points that without an idea of what you like and how much you want to spend it's hard to cut back the options enough!!! cattman Posted July 10, 2015 #32 Share Posted July 10, 2015 Cardero's for a nice combination of excellent patio views and reasonable(for Coal Harbor water-view dining) prices. Go early or make reservations. Try the wok dishes, a bargain for the location. Lift is just too expensive IMO. Cactus Club Coal Harbour unimpressive and always VERY crowded, with lousy service. Ok, for real relief for the tapped-out wallet, especially with a family - walk the seawall to Denman to the Great Wall Mongolian BBQ. AYCE for about twelve bucks, not much atmosphere but all is fresh and tasty. Great place to eat upon returning your rental bike after a ride around Stanley Park. Also many good noodle places on Denman. Unless you're already able to competently cook asian food you're going to have a mediocre meal at best - and with nobody to blame but yourself!!! The suggested 'recipes' all produce very bland meals if followed.
Barwick Cruiser Posted August 12, 2015 #34 Share Posted August 12, 2015 Anyone know why the website for Cardero's keeps giving me an error message? I'm trying to check the menu links but keep getting that annoying message no matter which link I try. Do they even have a website? The links provided above don't seem to work...maybe it's just Chrome on my Mac? Thanks, Cathy
Rare martincath Posted August 13, 2015 #35 Share Posted August 13, 2015 Website is there, all parts working for me on Win/iOS/Android with half-a-dozen different browsers - it's not even a script-heavy or social-media-link-covered site that might make Adblock/Disconnect/NoScript block it (I have all three and without any specific whitelisting it opens just fine) Try typing it directly into your browser - http://www.vancouverdine.com is the core site, for all restaurants run by the Sequoia mob.
