Tickets for HOHO trolley in Vancouver

Can you buy the tickets for the trolley at any of the trolley stops or somewhere else? Do you need to purchase them ahead of time? Also, is it necessary/expected to tip the guide each time you get off at a stop? Just trying to plan last minute logistics and make sure I have enough cash for additional tips.
