How old to be in a separate room from Mom and Dad?

I am wondering if I can get a NON adjoining room for my 18 and 14 year olds?

I was thinking a balcony for hubby and me and an across the hall interior for them? Can it be done?

Technically no. Book an adult in each, with a child as the 2nd... You should be able to figure out what is next.

Was hoping since they consider an 18 year old and "adult" they would allow it.

I would call and ask. There was a lengthy discussion about this on another board, and I think in the case of siblings that as long as one is 18 years old they can share a separate cabin as long as you guys are going too.

My niece was 18 and booked as the adult in her room with her 16 year old friend. All cruise documents came to her for that cabin.

Unless something has changed in the last year or so, this is not correct. 18-20s can share a cabin, but in order for there to be a minor in the room who is not the child of an 18-20, there must be a 21 year old BOOKED into the room.

Reality, once on board, DCL doesn't care who sleeps where, so you book mom in one room, dad in the other, and split the kids.

 

We've had documents sent to 17 year old kids--has nothing to do with who is booked in the room with them (and we needed a 21)
