Rhodes-car rental?

Has anyone rented a car for the day after arriving in Rhodes via cruise ship? Did you waste a lot of time waiting for the car? Did you feel rushed? I'm interested in visiting the vineyards on the island.

A few years ago, we rented at a local rental company a few blocks from pier. As I recall, we simply ask some of the cruise staff where to rent and they sent us in the right direction. We like Rhodes and think its almost like two seperate islands. You have the old town, and Lindos where you can see some of the history. You also have excellent beaches ala Miami Beach with hotels, crowds, bungee jumping from a crane, para-sailing, etc. This is why Rhodes is a very popular getaway for the British, Germans, etc.
