Cable Beach Questions

Hello,

We have been to Nassau several times and have done the Atlantis/Paradise Island in the past and lately have just been going to Junkanoo. This time it will just be me and my Son. I saw some others talking about the Wyndham and Melia on Cable Beach. We are not looking to spend a fortune but the $20-$30 for the day pass here sounds good especially if kids cost less. He is 8 if that makes a difference. I am wondering a few things about these properties and have listed my questions below. I really appreciate any assistance or feedback.

1. Is the prices I mentioned accurate? Not looking for food or beverage.

2. Can we just show up and get the day pass?

3. What all is included in non-motorized watersports?

4. Are Jet Skis and or Parasailing available? If so how much?

5. Can we just take the #10 bus over? How much would cab be?

Thanks again for the help!

Both hotels now charge $30 - 1/2 price for kids.

Food and beverage is available for purchase. No outside food/drinks allowed

2. Can we just show up and get the day pass?

Yes, just go to the front desk

3. What all is included in non-motorized watersports?

Currently the melia has stand up paddle boards, mats, kayaks and snorkeling gear. You might want to bring gear for your child, since Melia gear is too big. 30 minutes use for each. Sign up on the beach.

4. Are Jet Skis and or Parasailing available? If so how much?

Yes, but the hotel doesn't sanction this. Jet ski's are independent vendors unregulated, unregisteredd and uninsured. Not recommended, especially with a rider on board. We have serious (and fatal) accidents here on a regular basis.

$60/$80 for 30 minutes - but these guys try and con you.

Parasailing vendors come by the beach. $80pp

5. Can we just take the #10 bus over? How much would cab be?

#10 bus is $1.25 pp. Cab is $5 pp.

Thanks again for the help!

Hope this helps

  • 2 weeks later...

You need the jitney, #10 I think (not sure). Walk to the back of the straw market and turn right. Go toward fast good. (Maybe mcdonalds). About 3 blocks. Jitney usually parked on that corner. Took me a while to find first time but pretty easy. Get a Dauquari across the street!
