Atlantis: Book from NCL or Comfort Suites?

Hey cruise nuts! We have been to Atlantis twice already and I usually book at Comfort Suites, take a taxi over and go on inside. We are going at the end of June and the ship is actually $59 cheaper than Comfort Suites. My questions is this......

If we book through the ship do we have a long wait at shore to get to the park and a long wait to get back? How is the wait time usually with so many people going?

We took the NCL excursion the last time, because it was cheaper than CS (off peak time). We got off of the ship, got bracelets, walked to the shuttles, hopped in, and arrived at Atlantis in no time. We followed the crowd, and went off on our own at the first sign for Aquaadventure. We were in the pool at 9.

We were prepared to get a cab if we felt the wait was too much, but there was really no wait at all.

When we were at Atlantis (just sightseeing and walking around) we saw people getting a walking tour and they had their bathing suits with them. If you take the NCL Atlantis tour, do you have to get the full tour or can you just go to the water places?

You can go wherever you would like. We had already been there before, so we ditched the tour. However, definitely look at a map ahead of time to get familiar with the property (there are also a lot of signs). We walked to a main pool, grabbed some chairs, swam for an hour, and then started on the slides when they opened at 10. After we tired of them, we checked out predator lagoon, and then the beach, finishing up at the Digs.
