puffin108 Posted June 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 4, 2014 Heading to the Baltic in July and just been emailed by our cruise line that we are now to tender into Stockholm. Does anyone have any experience of this? Does it take a lot of time off your day?
Desdichado62 Posted June 4, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 4, 2014 Your ship will moor at a buoy in central Stockholm and you will have use the ships tenders from/to the ship. you will be dropped off here: https://www.google.se/maps/place/Stockholm+Slussen+kajen/@59.3217,18.074621,18z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x465f77fccfb0f271:0x94cd8ffc9c79fd35 More info here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=42747869&highlight=str%F6mmen#post42747869 http://www.stockholmshamnar.se/en/Map/?harbor=Stohab&jettylocation=18.08595,59.3199 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=42545392&highlight=str%F6mmen#post42545392

Thank you also for posting the map, what a thoughtful cruiser! :)

Giantfan13 Posted June 5, 2014 #5 Share Posted June 5, 2014 This is the first I've read of ships tendering into Stockholm. Is this because there will be an excess of ship's in port that day? Just try and make sure you get an early tender ticket. Cheers Len
puffin108 Posted June 5, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted June 5, 2014 Hi Len, yes there are too many vessels that day to dock so P&O emailed to say they are going to tender instead. Hopefully they'll go straight to Slussen so it might work in our favour!
Ultima Thule Posted June 6, 2014 #7 Share Posted June 6, 2014 (edited) this will work out well as that's right beside the ferry to Djurgarden and Vasa. :) Here is a picture taken from Slussen of a cruise ship tendering at Strömmen last year. You can see the Djurgården ferry behind the road sign. The ferry landing is immediately the left of the picture.
