Stay, Park and Cruise Hotels in Ft. Lauderdale

We have flown to FLL both times we have cruised on Princess and have used Princess' Extended Stay and Transfers. We are considering driving in both Nov and Feb for Princess cruises. Please recommend hotels to consider for staying the night before the cruise and parking for the duration of the cruise. Web sites list quite a few hotels with stay, park and cruise packages. Prefer recommendations from cruisers who have used the packages.

We always drive & have stayed at either the Fairfield Inn or the Courtyard.....no charge for parking for up to 21 days (at least that is what is was in April) - we have never had any issues with hotels or our vehicle being left at either.

Also, they both have a (for fee) shuttle service to & from the port, I believe around $ 8 pp - per trip, we use the shuttle to get to the port but usually just grab a cab (about $20) when we return as to not have to wait for the shuttle service.

We did Princess Panama Canal last Sept. We parked at Homewood Suites in FT Lauderdale and left the car there for 18 nights no cost. We flew from Lauderdale to San Fran to catch the ship. Then we sailed back to Lauderdale. Hotel did not have a shuttle but we used their recommended one and it was reasonable. Worked well for us.

PS - good Irish Pub just west of the hotel.

The airport area hotels will offer parking packages. Since cab ride to the port will only be around $15, I would skip the hotel shuttle service, especially if you have to pay.

You can use stay123.com or parksleepfly. com for ideas and tripadvisor.com for recent reviews.

Homewood, Cambria, Springhill, Fairfield etc are all popular moderate suite type hotels that offer what you need.

Terri, Trip Advisor people are saying this is not a safe area and. Ars have been broken into. Did you find it safe? Which of these two properties did you prefer?

I see we are fellow Charlestonians!! ;)

Thanks,

Cheryl

There's also a map here that shows locations of all the hotels offering the stay & cruise package: http://www.parkingstay.com/p/ft-lauderdale.html . Should help with your research.

Thank you SO much for posting this link!!!

I'm considering the Hyatt Place. They offer a shuttle for $7.00 p/p to the port but I'm wondering if it would be just as cheap (and even more convenient) to take a taxi. Anyone have any input?
