cab fare from Laguardia area hotel to nyc pier 90

I am hoping to book a cruise soon from new york city on Carnival Splendor.

 

ApproximateLly how much is it in a cab from either LGA or one of the airport hotels to the pier. I have read in some reviews that it is approximately 35.00 plus tip. Is this a fairly good estiimate? And does it matter if it is one person or two?

 

Im weighing whether I should overnight the night before in an airport area hotel, or find one closer to the pier. Thanks for any advice.:)

$35-40 plus tolls and tip...A cab is per cab not per person.
