HI! I am hoping that you will see this thread because you are so helpful regarding the Miami area. I do appreciate all the advice you have given to not only me but the others on this site. All of us learn so much from you!:D

Anywho, after a recent thread of mine, inquiring about the area to stay in pre-cruise, our group has decided to stay in South Beach. I have a few questions if you have time to answer, I would really appreciate it.

Will we have a hard time getting into clubs?

Which clubs do you recommend that will not be hard to get into?

Does every club charge 20+ just to get through the door?

How much should we expect our drink prices to be?

Do you have any suggestions for a nice restaurant that we will not spend an arm and a leg for?

I have not found a hotel yet, however I am trying to get atleast a 3* through priceline in South Beach. We are trying to reserve as much money as possible for our cruise, because we know our bar bill will most likely be outragous...as it was before. However, we want to live it up as much as we can while we are in south beach.

TIA!

It's been a while since I've been to the clubs, we've kind of outgrown that I guess. Yes, the hotter clubs do charge a hefty cover charge, and of course have the longest lines. Drink prices aren't cheap either! Bring $$$$$... Hey, you only live once, HAVE FUN! ;)

Here's a good website with up to date club info... http://www.southbeach-usa.com/nightclubs.htm

Here are some South Beach restaurants we like...

Big Pink (cheap & fun)... http://www.bigpinkrestaurant.com/

Grillfish... http://www.grillfish.com/

News Cafe (one of the MANY sidewalk cafes on Ocean Drive, great people watching)... http://www.newscafe.com/

Monty's... http://www.montysstonecrab.com/

Barton G (while not exactly cheap, it's one of the most unique restaurants you'll ever see, the food is great and the presentation is way over the top)... http://www.bartong.com/restaurant/index.html

Thank you so much for all the great info. I knew that SOBE wouldn't be cheap...you are right, we only live once so we plan to have blast the short time that we are there.

One more question if you do not mind. If we are not able to book thru priceline, what streets should I look for when booking a hotel. We would like to be within walking distance to a lot of restaraunts/bars if possible. Just by looking at the map, I am guessing ocean drive and collins. Is this correct? Are there others? Thanks again and I do apologize if I am wearing you out on the subject. ;)

No problem Holly... Generally everything most people want to see and do is roughly between 5th and 15th Streets along Ocean Drive, Collins, and Washington Avenues. So if you're within or close to that general area you'll be fine and easily be able to walk everywhere.
