Onboard Account CC Early Pmt Question

Hi,

I'll be on a 24 day sailing with HAL this summer. I have 'rewards credit cards' that have bonuses specific for each billing period. I know it is protocol for HAL to charge all onboard account expenses at the end of the cruise, but my CC closing date will coincide with the final date of the cruise. I want to make sure I maximize my bonuses and have at least a portion of my expenses clear prior to my closing date. Last year, I was told it would take a week for the expenses to clear, but they cleared within a day of the end of the cruise.

 

I would like to hear from others who have been successful with having HAL charge a portion of their expenses to their cards early.

If you are more that a week from sailing, you could purchase some "gift" onboard credit for yourself. That would put the charge in the earlier billing period.
