rula40 Posted August 5, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 5, 2005 HI Bob, Just the kind of tip I am looking for, any other tips would be greatly appreciated.;) Thanks Phil
mufi Posted August 5, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 5, 2005 I would say that if you want to be escorted to your table just ask. We had table companions who ordered turf and surf and had to get the waiter to disect the lobster for them because they were having so much difficulty doing it. Menus - so much a case of personal preference. David.
traveling mama Posted August 6, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 6, 2005 You know the lobster was tuff to get out of the shell. How come they serve it like that. It was tasty just a lot of work to get at!

JLind Posted August 7, 2005 #6 Share Posted August 7, 2005 Hello- I was on the eastbound crossing July 5th. We were a group of six and had different opinions regarding the best entrees, it's subjective. However, we all agreed that the food in Brittania was wonderful. Two in our group have been on the most luxurious of ships and for extended periods of time, and they too, were pleased with the Brittania dining. By the way, our lobster was removed from the shell, by our servers, without our asking. Regarding where best to sit, I'd recommend reading the outstanding post by Paul NH "Review of June 9 Eastbound Transatlantic". I read his review just before we left. He had said that he'd eaten lunch in many different locations in the dining room and came to conclude that there are many lovely places to sit. His advice is on target. We were assigned to an upstairs table on the railing looking over the lower level and it was beautiful, but Paul was right. When we ate lunch at a few other locations, they were nice too. I wouldn't get knicker-twisted over this particular issue. -Jill

bob71 Posted August 13, 2005 Author #8 Share Posted August 13, 2005 Jill's recommendation sounds very good, especially at night when you cannot see much outside anyway. We ended up upstairs in the middle row (a little elevated from your Jill's table), it was an okay table, next time I'll look for the railing! Also, you don't want to be too far back, that area looses a bit of the ambience (there's usually a quartet or some sort of group playing light music up front).
