What are the new shows for Oasis of the Seas

Recommended Posts

What are the 2 new big shows for Oasis now? I know they replaced HAIRSPRAY with CATS...correct??? What takes the place of COME FLY WITH ME? I was looking forward to both shows. I've seen CATS 3 times! Would anyone recommend booking the Comedy Live Show more than once? Hopefully they do different jokes on each of the nights.....

The comedy shows are basically the same each night. As the venue only holds a few hundred people per show, the shows are with the same comedians and the same basic material each time so that everyone on board who wants to see the show will have the same basic experience. I don't think you can reserve more than one comedy show sitting at a time, but you can certainly go stand by for available seating if you want to see it again.

Have not heard any announcement of any main production show changes - just the Broadway show change with Cats.

Cats will be loaded on during drydock in October.

Thanks! I've been on Oasis once, it's a beautiful ship, lots to do...but why is it going into dry dock? It's a new ship. Is it just to make the show changes?

️ You know you're a cruise addict if:

You know what DOtD and OBC mean.

You enter your bedroom at night and look for the towel animal.

You are reading Cruise Critic, and your cruise isn't for months, or you don't even have one booked (yet!)

Oasis debuted in the fall of 2009. So technically it is 5 years old this year. Drydock is performed every 5 years on Royal Caribbean vessels for general maintenance below the water line and replacement of carpets, and interior furnishings inside the ship. During this time, shows can change and depending on the length of the drydock, some venues may change or be remodeled as well.

How long do the shows generally stay on the ship? I'm not cruising until January of 2016. But, I HATED Cats! Sorry!

Typically Royal Caribbean shows have a life onboard of 5 to 7 years. A lot goes into designing and producing a musical production and so it needs to be performed for several years. A show typically only changes during a drydock event because of the amount of staging, lighting, etc needed to put on the show.

Thanks for the info, I thought it was longer, but it makes sense.
