We go on the Independace of the seas at the end of July. I have two questions if anyone can answer them:

 

* can you buy the premium drinks package on board

* if so how much is it in $, as the boat is $ I think?

Yes, you can purchase onboard, cost is $55 per day including gratuities.

They have tables set up all around the ship with crew members ready to sell you the drink packages. You just give them your sign and sail card and they put a little sticker on it and you are ready to get your drink on. They make it so easy and I have to say for me it was worth every penny.

Does everyone over the age of 21 have to purchase? (I mean in same cabin.) this might he worth it for my husband, but I don't drink as much and would rather just pay as I go

No such requirement since November 2013.
